RMN Events: Rules for American Grappler Open Division

RMN Events have considered jumping into the Grappling world and offering a purse at grappling tournaments. Although that may also be offered by RMN Events in the future, we believe we have enough interest for those athletes who have decided not to compete in college, want to wrestle and may consider training for a purse. At this time there are no events that offer a purse for traditional Folkstyle wrestling. Then there are also those who train for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), as wrestling has become an integral part of that competition. Now athletes can sharpen their wrestling skills, have an opportunity to make money and not violate their current professional fighting contract. Our Goal in the future is to offer a $5,000.00 purse for each 1st place champion

Could we see the likes of those icons that have a desire to lay it on the line again back in action? We believe so, some of the matches that never took place, may have the components now to make those key match-ups come to fruition. We also believe some wrestlers, who we may have thought retired, will get back into the gym and back in shape.

Most of us enjoy watching the MMA fighters get into a cage and fight for a half-million dollars. Most may not realize the long haul and politics it takes to compete for a purse of that size. In our experience when RMN partnered with Randy Couture and Matt Lindland, athletes on our card, who had 10-20 fights, were still not getting paid what we are offering in our first event. One must also consider that wrestlers do not have to knock out or be knocked out to make money with this concept. Could this be supplemental income for the wrestler who may currently make $30,000.00 on their job and then compete in our American Grappler series and make an additional $30,000.00 in one season? Of course much work has to be completed so we can position ourselves to offer this opportunity with high stakes; however, this is the goal for the America Grappler series.

We believe this has the making of a great niche for the wrestler who can compete with the best in most competition; we will certainly be in for some great match-ups as we keep wrestling in its current application and rules.

We will schedule three events offering a purse for 2008. We will review the response and move forward with plans for 2009.

The first three events will be:

Monster Match Nationals: November 1, 2008 Denver Coliseum, Denver, Colorado
Games of Rome December 6, 2008 Osceola Heritage Park Orlando Florida
Who’s Bad? National Classic January 3, 2009 National Western Complex, Denver, Colorado 80038

RMN Events will be the first in wrestling history to offer this package. We hope to have your support…

Sincerely,
Ed Gutierrez
