Our staff is looking forward to coming to Farmington, New Mexico and the four corners area. We have heard for years how strong the spirit of wrestling and the rich tradition this part of the country has displayed. We are fortunate to garner the support of the wrestling community, in particular Paul and Nichole Atencio. This event hosted at the 5000 seat arena McGee Park Coliseum is a great fit to kick off this inaugural event that we have named the Aztec Warrior Championships.

The event will feature all three styles of wrestling, Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco. We will have up to 15 mats, with Folkstyle on Saturday and Sunday we will run the Freestyle and Greco. We are expecting to see a good representation in the Open Division as we have spoken to quite a few wrestlers who are attending college to participate. The K-12 divisions are sure to draw many summer wrestlers as we expect to be one of the largest events in the off season topping 1,000 wrestlers. We already have commitments from wrestlers coming from the state of Washington, Minnesota, including the entire region surrounding the 4-Corners.

As a family, you can take advantage of the site seeing, be sure to include a few extra hours to visit the sites you've always wanted to see.

Please email us if you have any questions, you can register at www.rmnevents.com and we look forward to seeing you at the Aztec Warrior Championships in the beautiful 4-Corners on April 28, 2012.

Sincerely,
Ed Gutierrez

Four Corners is the only place in the United States where you can touch land in four different states at once. This meeting point of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico is marked by a granite and brass monument displaying each of the intersecting states' flags. Four Corners National Monument, operated by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department, is a popular tourist destination. Additionally, within a few hours of the monument, each of the joining states offers nearby attractions to visitors.

Follow ancient passageways to a distant time. Explore an Ancestral Pueblo great house of over 500 masonry rooms. Look up in those rooms and see original timbers holding up the roof. Search for the fingerprints of ancient workers in the mortar. Listen for an echo of ritual drums in the reconstructed Great Kiva. Adventure into the past.
